Found some safety pins!

I never did find the safety pins I was wanting. But I happened upon a bag of ones I can rust up. But for some reason I am having a heck of a time trying to get them to rust. Not sure what I am doing wrong. I will persist!

Also, thank you all for checking out my selling blog. I do appreciate it as well as the kind comments! :-)

  4. Mine aren't doing so well. Might have to try a different way of rusting. Hmm, never heard of using the peroxide before. But boy, the bleach mixed with the vinegar sure is potent smelling. Had to put it outside so we didn't have to be around the fumes.

  5. I use bleach and vinegar equal parts and add alittle salt. I put mine in a glass jar and cover for a free days. Watch that mixture with the kids. Gald to see your back. Kathy

  6. Thanks Kathy! It's good to be back. Yeah I think I just need to let the pins soak for a few days, which is what I haven't been doing. I will try that though.

  7. My problem is they never rust well. I have been told they have to be stainless steal. The ones I have found do not state what they are made of.
I gave up after trying 3 different recipes and bought from Primfolks by Judy. Cheap enough and easy!!

  8. I don't know what mine are made out of, but they did seem to rust up a little with the peroxide and salt combo!
